New Staff Hire: Eric Witherell, Rapid Rehousing Coordinator with CARES

The Crisis Assistance and Resource Educations Support (CARES) is excited to introduce their new Rapid Rehousing Coordinator, hired for the three-year grant cycle, Eric Witherell (he/him).

Eric Witherell has spent the last 13 years working in multiple roles in both the K-12 and higher education settings. Starting out as a teacher in Cincinnati Public Schools, Eric worked for two years developing a literary class and associated publication for a Cincinnati Public high school. He then completed a Masters of Education in School Counseling and started a new phase in his career working to provide mental health to students and families. Eric continued this career after a move in 2017 to Colorado, working as a licensed school counselor in a Denver Public middle school. This career move gave Eric the opportunity to help students gain community access to basic needs resources and managed the crisis response for the mental health team. Now that he is in Sacramento, Eric is excited to bring his expertise and skills to CSUS to help any students coming through the CARES office!
